Hungary’s only Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
This year marks a significant milestone in the life of Zala Springs Health & Golf Resort: the complex celebrates its 10th anniversary. The jubilee year is not only about celebration but also about conscious development. Investments and renewal processes carried out in recent months serve a clear purpose: to provide an even higher standard of experience for domestic and international guests, as well as club members and property owners – as stated by CEO Ferenc Zsolt Horváth.
Renewed Clubhouse – A New Hub for Community Life
The interior of the resort’s clubhouse is currently undergoing transformation. A brighter, more spacious interior combined with modern, clean design represents not only an aesthetic upgrade but also functional renewal. The goal is to make the clubhouse a true community space: an ideal setting for pre-game focus, checking scorecards, and engaging in friendly or professional conversations after a round.
Starting from the end of March 2026, club life will expand with a new dimension: a modern conference room with a capacity of 70 people. This new space will provide a professional environment not only for corporate events, team-building activities, and business gatherings but also for golf tournament evaluations and community programs. The development further strengthens the resort’s position in the MICE market in Western Transdanubia.
Enhanced Course Quality
At the heart of the golf experience remains the award-winning course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., which has been a key focus of recent developments.
The drainage systems and sand of the bunkers have been renewed, the driving range tee areas modernized, and the machinery fleet upgraded alongside the implementation of robotic technology infrastructure. The objective is clear: more precise, sustainable course maintenance and a higher level of playing experience with every round.
Golf Experience All Year Round
To overcome seasonal limitations, a new golf simulator will arrive in the clubhouse this spring, allowing for practice and play regardless of weather conditions. This development represents a major step forward, especially for corporate events and winter club life.
The range of recreational activities will also expand with a billiards and darts room, offering relaxed entertainment after a competition day or among friends.
Gastronomic Renewal
In parallel with the clubhouse transformation, the restaurant is also entering a new level. The elegant yet welcoming two-story space is ideal for a lunch after the 18th hole, while also providing a suitable setting for longer business or professional meetings.
The new menu emphasizes premium ingredients: alongside water buffalo burgers, wild boar stew, and Angus steak, vegetarian and vegan dishes are also available, catering to the needs of an international clientele.
International Recognition: TOP 20 in Europe
In the 2026 European ranking by LeadingCourses, Zala Springs achieved the greatest improvement and reached 19th place, entering the TOP 20.
It is important to highlight that this result is the outcome of consistently implemented quality improvements over recent years, a conscious focus on increasing guest satisfaction, and a stable professional strategy. The ongoing and planned developments aim to further strengthen competitiveness and the quality of experience in the years ahead.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Zala Springs can be proud not only of its past but also of confidently building its future – as one of the key players in Hungarian golf and premium tourism.
